Drink more water! It is recommended that you drink at least half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. Staying hydrated encourages proper metabolic function. Your body is up to 60 percent water and needs water to function properly. Staying hydrated is one of the most important things you can do for your body.

Not only does drinking enough water mean you’re flushing out toxins on the regular (and if that means plenty of bathroom breaks, so be it), it also means your skin will stay healthy, you’ll sleep better and you might even notice that headaches, muscle cramping, digestive issues, and aches and pains subside substantially.

Try adding some Vitality oils to your water to help keep things fun and new! Be sure to use glass or stainless steel and not plastic!

Our favorites?
💧 Lemon
💧 Grapefruit
💧 Orange

Did you know water is important for joint health? Water can provide you with the minerals that you need for optimal health. The joints in your body are the cushions that support the weight of your entire body. In order to function properly, the joints need an adequate amount of water. When you do not get enough water your spine and joints can become seriously damaged. Pain that is caused by thinning cartilage and herniated discs in the spine can be eased by simply drinking enough water each day. Proper hydration will help keep your muscles and joints lubricated so you will be less likely to get sprains or cramps.

How did your water intake go yesterday? Did you come up with a fun way to remind yourself to drink more water? Did you try something new in your water?

Have you tried the YL Vitality Drops? They’re super convenient and a great way to flavor your water!

Tips for drinking more water!

Drink a glass after every bathroom break.

Drink before each meal.

Use an app like “Daily Water Free” to track your intake.

Keep a gallon jug nearby.

Anytime you drain your glass or water bottle, fill it back up.

Get into herbal tea.

Drink a glass of water every time you are waiting for coffee to brew.

Did you know water is good for eye health? The cornea of the eye is made up of eighty percent water. For this reason, making sure that you drink enough water is extremely important for the health of your eyes. If you work in a profession that requires using the eyes for many hours, you may end up with eyes that are extremely dry. Taking breaks on a regular basis and focusing on something located in the distance when you are doing tedious work such as editing or staring at a computer screen will help relax your eyes. Blinking may help facilitate moisture and can lubricate the eye.

Just another benefit of water.. are you drinking enough?

Keeping a water bottle with you throughout the day can help you drink more water.

When you have a reusable water bottle, you can easily drink water in any setting, whether you’re running errands, traveling, or at home, work, or school.

Keeping a water bottle handy can also serve as a visual reminder to drink more water. If you see the bottle on your desk or table, you will constantly be reminded to drink more.

Plus, it’s better for the environment than relying on single-use plastic water bottles. (Healthline.com)

Did you know that water lowers blood pressure?  When you drink plenty of water the more fluids that will leave the blood vessels. When more fluid is leaving the blood vessels your blood vessels will then relax. When your blood vessels are relaxed your blood pressure is going to be lower. If you eat too much salt or if you do not drink enough, water can accumulate in your blood vessels. This can contribute to your blood pressure. If your blood pressure becomes too high it can cause the blood vessel to burst and this may lead to kidney disease or a stroke... crazy huh? So, are you drinking enough water?

How are you feeling so far this week with your increased water intake?

Water could be good for Cancer prevention - when you allow your body to become dehydrated toxins will build up within the cells. When there are toxins within your cells it may cause them to behave erratically. They may even begin multiplying and become out of control. It is thought that taking in enough water can help prevent certain types of cancer such as leukemia. It may also help reduce the risk of colon and bladder cancer as well. The reasoning behind this is that it is thought that drinking enough water will help keep the systems within the body normalized, which results in toxins being flushed and the body running as it should! Are you drinking your water?

Water prevents headaches - If you suffer from frequent headaches, try increasing the amount of water that you drink each day. Often times headaches are caused by dehydration. Drinking more water each day will ensure that you are hydrated and will likely decrease the number of headaches that you have. This is a natural remedy for headaches and there are no side effects!
